Endangered. Borneo, Sumatra, and Malay Peninsula, all under pressure from palm oil. Its ridged casque is a fingerprint.
- Population
- Unknown (uncommon throughout range); suspected to decline 50–79% over three generations (57 years) due to forest loss — 62% forest-cover loss across range 2000–2012 (BirdLife International 2018 assessment)
