Fakta menarik
The Oriental Cuckooshrike was originally described from Java in 1821 and long called the "Javan Cuckooshrike," thought to be confined to Java and Bali, until a taxonomic revision merged in several subspecies formerly classified under the Indian Cuckooshrike and revealed its true range stretches from the Himalayas to Taiwan.
Sebaran
Widely distributed from the Himalayan foothills (Pakistan/India) through Myanmar, Thailand, Indochina, southern China, Hainan, and Taiwan; also the Andaman Islands, and Java and Bali in Indonesia (originally described from, and long thought restricted to, Java and Bali before taxonomic revision expanded it to include several former Indian Cuckooshrike subspecies).
Makanan
Primarily insectivorous, taking insects and large hairy caterpillars in the forest canopy (typical of the cuckooshrike family Campephagidae); likely supplements with fruit, as documented in the closely related Indian Cuckooshrike with which several subspecies were formerly lumped.
