Burung buruan (Game Birds)
Satyr Tragopan
Tragopan satyra
- mistis
- 85 km/h
- Risiko rendah
A pheasant that looks straight out of mythology. In display the male unfurls a sapphire throat-lappet patterned like an illuminated manuscript and erects two cobalt horns from his brow, then bows behind a log to a watching female who has, until that moment, no idea any of it was there.
- Populasi
- Not precisely quantified; probably at least in the high tens to hundreds of thousands, suspected slow decline (1-9% over three generations)
- Habitat
- Moist oak and rhododendron forest with dense undergrowth and bamboo clumps, and drier temperate coniferous/oak forest with rocky gorges and streams; elevations roughly 1,800-4,500 m (most records 2,300-3,900 m), using higher conifer/rhododendron zones in summer and descending to lower broadleaf forest in winter as a partial altitudinal migrant
