Burung kicau (Songbirds)

Golden-cheeked Warbler

Setophaga chrysoparia

Only breeds in the juniper-oak woods of central Texas. Extremely exclusive delivery zone.

Populasi: ~262,000 males range-wide; the global breeding population is ~110,000 individuals, and there has been a sharp decline on the wintering grounds, so the true current figure is uncertain and likely lower than both estimates.
Habitat: Mature Ashe juniper–oak woodlands, both moist canyons and dry uplands; requires old-growth juniper bark strips for nest-building; winters in pine-oak forest at 1,100-3,000 m elevation in Central American highlands
Fakta menarik: The Golden-cheeked Warbler is the only bird species whose entire breeding population nests exclusively within the state of Texas, and it depends on bark stripped from mature Ashe juniper trees to build its nest.
Sebaran: Breeds only on the Edwards Plateau and adjacent areas of central Texas (roughly 33-39 counties, from Palo Pinto County southwest to Kinney County) — the only bird species whose entire breeding range lies within Texas; winters in the pine-oak highlands of southern Mexico (Chiapas), Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua
Makanan: Insectivorous — caterpillars, other insects, and spiders gleaned from foliage or caught by sallying
Ukuran: 0,125 m
Bentang sayap: 0,2 m
Masa hidup: 2,5 tahun
