Burung pemangsa (Birds of Prey)
White-rumped Vulture
Gyps bengalensis
- mistis

- Kritis
Once the most abundant large raptor on Earth, blackened to skeletal numbers by a single cattle painkiller in barely a decade. The skies above the subcontinent grew quiet, and the work it used to do for us went undone.

- Habitat
- Open plains, cultivated fields, and hilly terrain, typically near human settlements and villages; roosts and nests colonially in tall trees (e.g. banyan, peepul, neem, arjun) at heights of 2-18 m, and on cliffs
- Fakta menarik
- The White-rumped Vulture's population collapsed by more than 99% since the mid-1990s after it began ingesting diclofenac, a veterinary anti-inflammatory drug given to livestock, which causes fatal kidney failure in vultures that scavenge treated carcasses.
- Sebaran
- South and Southeast Asia across roughly 14 countries, historically throughout the Indian subcontinent (Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan) and into Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam; now largely extirpated from most of its former Indian-subcontinent range, with the largest remaining populations in Cambodia and Myanmar
- Makanan

- Bentang sayap
- 2 m
- Masa hidup
